commercial PROJECTS

Portfolio

Commercial design requires meeting the needs of private owner groups with a focus on customer appeal, construction efficiency, and ease of operation. Every project is as unique as the personality and purpose of the business it represents. PCD’s experience spans restaurants, offices, medical facilities, building repurposing, and historical renovations. Our team has designed a wide range of structures utilizing wood, steel, masonry, and concrete. With experience as both designers and constructors, PCD helps clients maximize their construction budgets to make projects economically feasible. The personal dedication of our focused team produces practical solutions and exceptional results—because we take pride in every project as if it were our own.

Community Center

Cisco, Texas

Services: Architectural Engineering

Building Activities: Worship, Sports, Exercise, Meetings, Community Gatherings

Status: Completed 2016

Description: Totaling 56,124 square feet with three stories, this venue serves as a new community center, with religious space, supporting business offices, a basketball court, fitness center and second floor elevated running track. PCD designed all foundations and primary and secondary structural members. The structural system included wide flange and tube steel columns and wide flange, joist girders and bar joist floor and roof framing. The exterior façade of the building was brick veneer held by load-bearing masonry block. The structure was supported by a spread footing and slab-on-grade foundation. Existing buildings were also repurposed to provide needed space for the venue’s varied programs. The existing structure system was precast concrete. The existing structural members were modified and supported to provide clear spans, building openings and increased loadings, as dictated by the architectural design.

First Assembly of God

Emory, Texas

Services: Project Coordination, Architectural Engineering

Building Activities: Worship, Community Gatherings

Status: Completed 2016

Description: PCD designed a 7,047 sq. ft. church featuring a sanctuary, offices, library, meeting rooms, kitchen, restrooms, and nursery. Working with the contractor, owners, and design team, PCD optimized the building’s placement for utility access, street connections, and on-site parking. Code compliance, egress, and ADA standards were carefully addressed to ensure a safe, accessible worship space.

A fully coordinated construction set minimized change orders and schedule impacts. PCD also provided the structural design — a wood-frame structure with shear walls, long-span trusses, and a slab-on-grade foundation.
